Event Description

Embassy Review : Interview appointment was 8.45am. Arrived at 8.15am, had to queue and surrender mobile phone before allowed to enter the embassy proper.

Was given a queue number and asked to take a seat and wait. There was one person ahead of me. Waited for a while and when it was my turn an Asian man called my number. He asked for the documents requested in the email (birth cert, police cert, Affidavit of Support, passport and passport photographs). Forgot to make a photocopy of documents so I had to make payment for them to make the copies for me. After he looked through the Affidavit of Support he mentioned one of the supporting documents was not acceptable and returned it to me, along with a "pending documents" form and the domestic violence handout. He told me that the next person to talk to me would let me know if I had any pending documents to mail in to complete the visa process.

He asked a few questions:
-How did I meet my fiance
-How often did we meet
-What did he do for work
-When did he join the company
-Which part of the US would I be going to
-Have I been to the US before
-Have I ever been denied a US visa
-What is my marital status, and his
-Do either of us have any children
-Has either of us been married before

He then told me to take a seat and wait to be called again. After a while an Asian lady called my name and asked me to take an oath that I was telling the truth. She took my fingerprints and asked me a few more questions:
-How often did I meet my fiance
-When was the last time we saw each other
-What did he do for work
-Have I met his family
-How many siblings does he have
-Has he met my family

After that she told me that everything looks good and I would receive my visa in seven to ten days time.

Skipped out of the Embassy in joy.

Received my passport and visa via courier two days later.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
