My interview was at 12:30.
I arrived at the embassy about 11:30 and was the only person in the queue at the white tent! I presented my interview letter and the lady wrote a number on it. I then went across to the security hut and handed over my passport before entering. Inside, they scanned my bags and I walked through the "airport" style scanner. After that, I walked round the side of the embassy and up the stairs to the left. At reception, the lady checked my interview letter and put a sticker on it with a number on. I was was told to go upstairs and sit at the front of the room. It took about 25 minutes for me to be called to the first window and was greeted by a pleasant American gentleman. He asked for:
Confirmation of the courier for the return of my passport
My Original Birth Certificate
My Original Police Certificate
My Original Marriage Certificate
2x Passport Photos
I had my fingerprints taken - both hands and both thumbs.
I was asked a few basic questions including when did I intend on entering the U.S as well as asking for my phone number.
I was also asked "Who is *My Father In Law's Name*"? and I replied that he was my father in law, who signed an I-864a.
That was about it.
My paperwork from USCIS and NVC was all there so he took a quick look through it and told me all of my paperwork was in order  . I also got given my X-Ray back to keep. I was told to take a seat again and that I would be seen one more time.
I sat back down and it was quite a long wait. I believe there were only 2 windows open (round the corner) for interviews and it seemed to be taking a while. My number popped up again about 2:15ish. I hurried round to the window and was greeted by a lovely American lady. She was very friendly and put me at ease. She asked:
How did you meet your husband?
Which internet provider did you meet on?
When was that?
How long have you been together?
When did you first meet in person?
When did you get married?
Has your husband visited England before?
And, your father in law is *name*?
And, your husband lives with your father in law?
Have you lived anywhere else in the U.K?
And, when I said no to that last question, she said "Well, get ready to live somewhere else! You are approved!"
The questions were asked just like a flowing conversation .
All in all, a very good experience. Not sure why there was a bit of a delay in between the first and second part, though.
