We had our interview October 30th, Friday for 8 am. We got there about 6:55am or 7ish and there was a big line outside and thankful I didn't wear heels. They separated the lines for the people for 7am appointments and the 8am appointments. This lady was going to everyone making sure they had their interview appointment sheet ready. We passed through security. Then went into the waiting area was given #157 and they were only on 104 but it went by fast because there are alot of windows going on at the same time. We got called to give all the necessary documents but for some odd reason the packet of the medical exams that says do not open was never opened the lady looked at it and just gave it back without opening and reading it oddly.. Also our i-134 was never asked for either. Then she ripped the second ticket off and told us to wait for our number to be called again. I wasn't sure how it was going to go from their and she wasn't very nice and well explained. It was a long freezing wait, we saw people come and go and get approved and we weren't called again until 10am. We had a very nice man that smiled asked how we were and then to raise our right hands and swear to tell the truth. First he started by telling my fiance to put his 4 finger prints on the machine and then asked do you have any kids ? Ever been married before ? Have you ever been to the U.S before ? And then he asked so how did you two meet? My fiance gave our little story which involved some of our communication through Facebook and so then the man said so can I see your facebook like could I be able to pull it up right now? And my fiance answered said no because he joined the military in D.R and it wasn't a good look to have one. But I told him I still had mine and to search my name and then he asked to confirm you went so so univeristy? You work at such and such place? Oh I see it says you are engaged, oh and look here are you two right here. And we smiled and said yes thats us. Then he asked if he could see some pictures and I told him sure! We had a whole album of over 200 pictures. And he only looked through a few, pointed to some of the people who were actually his and I's parents together. He seemed impressed after that, he then asked me how many times I've come to see him, and how did he purpose was it on one knee? I told him the story behind that and he laughed with us. Later he asked when and where we planned to get married. And throughout the whole thing I spoke in spanish he didn't really ask me if I wanted english or spanish although you could tell he's American. But after all of that he told us well Felicidades su visa ha sido aprobada! And smiled and told us were to pick it up at and then also asked if he has read the pamphlet on domestic violence and my fiance said yes and joked that he knows how to snitch on me now. Lol overall it was a great and quick experience.
Tip: take a bunch of pictures with you and your fiance and with different people of their family so they see you also part take in their life. And Putting pictures and some info on Facebook never hurts either ! I completely didn't expect for my Facebook to be looked at! |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
