Embassy Review : |
My appointment was 8.45am and I arrived about 20mins before hand just to get myself settled down & to go through the security checks.
Do note that EVERYTHING electronic has to be surrendered at the security, right down to even your earphones. The security people are really pleasant and friendly.
I was the first to arrive for the interview and was greeted by a very friendly staff who got me to a designated seat to wait for my interview. The room is kinda like what the others have described, kinda bank booth style, only in my head i had imagined it to be bigger. LOL
First person to interview me was a local man who basically went through my forms while asking relevant questions to the forms. Turns out I had missed out on my divorce document that needed to be court certified (and I didn't know it wasn't! omg) so I would have to go to the family court to get that done. I think I spent about 15 - 20mins with him.
A little more than 1 hour later, I was called to the booth again this time by an American man who did my finger printing meanwhile asking more questions. He was kind enough to make the interview as conversational as possible and also assured me good-heartedly that there was nothing to be nervous about when I told him I was. I think I spent about 10mins with him and he basically told me my visa isn't approved that day simply because of that one document that I'm lacking. Once I get that and submit it with my passport to ARAMEX, I'll be well on my way! Yay! It was so fast, I was kinda in a blur. I was also shocked to hear that the 6 months validity to leave the country starts from the day I did my healthcheck, again something I didn't know XD so I was super shocked when he told me I had to leave the country earlier than I had planned to. Very exciting!!
Very good experience with the Embassy and all their staff. One thing I really got a kick off was going to the washroom XD It's probably just me but it was pretty surreal to be in an American style washroom in Singapore. LOL |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
