Consulate Review: Montreal, Canada
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : December 4, 2015
Embassy Review : We were scheduled for 7:40am this morning. We reached the consulate around 7:35ish(did not want to stand out in the cold). I was given # 7 for the immigrant visa. After going through the security screening we went up to the 19th floor. Our number was called probably around 8:40ish where we handed in all our docs..original police certificate, copy of birth certificate and original, 2 passport pics, proof of financial support(was specifically asked for 2014 tax return),I-134,Statement of intent to marry, proof of making the payment before scheduling the interview.
After that we waited about 10 mins and then our number was called in for the interview. After reading the oath I was asked the following questions,
1) How did we meet
2)where does my fiancee lives
3) what does she do for living
4) what do I do for living
5)If I have lived in any other countries
6) Any problem with the law anywhere
7) If I overstayed in USA
8)Trouble crossing the border
Did not ask me for anything else. My fiancee also flew in from USA but was actually told to go and wait while I was interviewed.Interview was short and consular was a nice and young guy. We were out of the consulate by 9:30am.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
