Comments : Entry by land. The border officers were very nice; the first one was unaware of K-1 process and would have let us go without reviewing envelop and providing I-94A on passport, so I raised the point and we went into the offices to complete the process, which was purely administrative

Comments : RFIE requesting:

1/ Federal tax returns and W2/1099/schedules of the sponsor for the most recent year. We initially provided the Federal tax transcript only, and thought this was sufficient.

2/ Joint sponsor or additional assets due to unsufficient income of the sponsor. The sponsor has had a job for a couple of months that makes well above the threshold. However tax transcripts show past years'revenue well below the threshold (the sponsor was a student at that time). We did not expect a RFE on this as we understand that strictly speaking USCIS should assess only based on the current salary, not the past years'income. However here they may not have been comfortable with this new job being so recent. We therefore included I-864 and supporting doc (W2, 1040, schedules, citizenship evidence) from a joint sponsor with a stronger financial situation.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
