It took 3 days to get an appointment date for the interview after case completed at the NVC
Medical in London was very quick, chest x ray followed by examination and vaccinations. Entire process took about an hour including the initial wait for the Dr. Absolutely no reason to worry. |

Had a long list of additional extra paperwork that they now required, including a note to explain why the original submission of evidence was late. The submission was not late and I had already provided the evidence that they were now requesting. So I think that this was a auto generated letter.
Submitted the requested information again and a letter explaining why I thought that there was aa clerical error in the late original submission of evidence. (submitted copies of receipts from USCIS etc)
No request for interview, the status was changed to "new green card is being produced"
During this process I was notified twice that my case was being sent to another office before the RFE request was sent to me. |

Arrived 30 minutes before the 8am appointment.
Admitted after normal airport style security.
Waited for my ticket number to be called, 8.15am.
Presented the required documentation, being the originals of certificates already presented to the NVC.
No problems, told to take a seat for my interview.
Called at 8.40am for my interview, was asked to swear that I told the truth etc. Was asked how I met my wife, if we saw each other much, where we were married, if I had met her parents, then about her job. After that I was asked if I was going to carry on in my profession or change.
All approved, and a congratulations from the clark.
Passport ready for collection 7 days after the interview, visa indicated as approved by the NVC 4 days after the interview.
Fly to the US the day I collect my passport from the couriers office.
Very easy process after all the waiting.
One thing is to make sure the courier fees are paid before the appointment. This was the first thing the clark asked me when I presented my documents once inside the embassy. |

Landed early evening in San Diego.
Waited in line and when called forward to the immigration desk passed the sealed envelope and passport to the immigration officer.
Got a smile from him, and a "congratulations, you're immigrating to america"
Was instructed to follow him to the seating area next to the office, and told someone would come out in a few minutes.
10 minutes later my passport was returned to me, as well as an annotated customs declaration.
I was asked to provide the telephone number of my wife. The officer told me to keep an eye out for the social security number which should be in the mail in a few days.
At customs was congratulated on immigrating to America and was sent on my merry way.
That was it.

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
