Comments : POE at Dallas, Fort Worth. Fiancee got there about 8AM and went into a room with a bunch of people in it. She said there was a room nearby that seemed like the people in it were having trouble with customs. She saw one person sitting with an officer while they counted out a lot of money. She waited maybe 20 minutes and got called up to the window and the customs officer asked her when we were going to get married. She said she didn't know the actual date yet since we haven't decided but she is aware that we have to get married within 90 days. The officer said 'Yep, 90 days. And if not you're going back to Japan.' He slid her passport back to her through the window and that was it.

Event Description
Review Date : December 21, 2015
Embassy Review : We had our interview today, 12/20/15 my time, 12/21/15 her time in Tokyo. The appointment was at 9:15am and my fiancee got there around 8:45am. Once she arrived she went through the checkpoint and got a numbered ticket (#39) then gave an employee some of the papers such as her passport and DS-160 and I-134 and went and sat down. Then after waiting they called her number again and she went and got fingerprinted. She sat down and waited some more and they called her number a third time and she went into the interview room. She said it was an open room kind of like a bank, with everyone giving their interviews. She went to the man who was interviewing her and she stood while talking to him.

He asked her to basically swear-in and promise to tell the truth and that all the paperwork was up to snuff. Then he started conducting the interview and only asked her a few questions. The questions that she remembers were:

How did we meet? To which she replied about meeting in college and I took her on a date. He then asked where the date was and what we did and she told him we went out to dinner and had a few drinks. He could tell she was nervous and stumbling over her words, so he asked her what kind of beer was famous in the town where I'm from to kind of lighten the mood. She said she felt a lot better after that.

What are my hobbies? To which she told him some of my hobbies including music and movies. He then asked what my favorite movie was and she blurted out Star Wars. The correct answer would've been Kill Bill Vol. 1 but at least she gave him something!

That was basically all he asked her and didn't ask for any evidence, any proof of relationship or letters of intent, no photos or Skype and chat logs, nothing else. She said the whole interview took less than 10 minutes and she was there for a total of about 2 hours.

She did note that you can see the interviews taking place from the waiting room and could interviewers 'looked kinder' than others, and some asked more questions that others. She also said that the interview was conducted in English and he didn't even ask her if she would prefer to do it in Japanese or English. Overall it was a very easy experience.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
