Event Description

Embassy Review : I was in attendance with my fiancee.

They have installed a new appointment process, but I don't know how much they keep to it. We had a 6:45am appointment and arrived at 6:15am. By 9:40am, we were done.

We stood in line outside to get a decal put on the outside of her visa, then stood in the next line over to go inside the outer part of the compound, where I found out I had to throw my cigarettes and lighter away.

Then we stood in line to go through the walk-through scanner. Following that, we stood in line to get a number stapled to some of the documents we brought.

After that, we went inside, where we got scanned again, to get to the place where we wait to stand in line for Window 1. After the Philippine officer asked a few interview type questions, and asked my fiancee if she wanted a Tagalog translator at her regular interview (she said yes), she then stood in line to get fingerprinted. After which, we sat down and waited and waited, then we got called to stand in line for Window 3, where she took her oath to tell the truth.

After that, we sat and waited and waited. Then we stood in line for Window 4, where she got interviewed. She was a little nervous and unsure of her answers to the English questions when the interviewer realized she had requested a Tagalog interpreter. Once the interpreter was there, she flew through the questions.

I think her Window 4 interview lasted about 6 minutes. And then the interviewer said she was approved and gave her some information for her protection, in case I turned out to be an abuser, so she would know who to call. And told her that her visa would not be affected at all if I turned out to be an abuser.

There were a lot, a lot, a lot of people going through the entire process, but it was one heck of a lot faster than going through a DMV process.

Overall, I would say they did a great job.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
