The interviewer was professional and polite. Finally an end to a visa hell started in early 2007. |

It took over 900 days = nearly 3 YEARS from when we filed the paperwork to get any update and to get the interview appointment. My understanding is that when they received the paperwork in Hellsinki, they moved fast from then on, but that leaves still nearly 900 days of unexplained, unacknowledged, and unapologized delays for us.
Furthermore, the reason for using the embassy of Hel was simply having got married in that country. As I wasn't living in that country that gave additional headaches of scheduling medicals and interview in another country that I was living. 2,5 weeks in Hel as I was not able to return home without my passport.
Interview itself reminded me and the spouse of East Germany, for both the style and charm of the office as the whole uncelebratoriness of the process. First wait for nearly an hour, then the five minutes of questions in a very tiny room behind a glass, wait again some more, pick the visa after a few days.
The rating is 1- for the whole process, and the total time taken from when paperwork was filed to actually receiving the visa, and how uncommunicative the whole process has been, counts for 90 % of the score. |

Rather painless.
Queueing or waiting for around 30-40 minutes in another room (where there were also some quite physically sick looking people so hoping to not catch swine flu or anything else odd) while someone looked at the k-3 package, then an unceremonial 'welcome to America' and off to next flight. |

AOS interview was a few days less than 4 months after the AOS filing.
The interviewer was very professional and polite. As AOS was from K-3, present as also USC spouse (and our immigration attorney).
Questions were of our biography (where you live, phone #, your parents names, DOB, until when is the passport valid, when and where you got married etc), how you met etc.
We had a huge folder of supporting documentation, but the only ones he asked and took copies of were my birth certificate (I live in a country where there is no such document, so he took a long form of extract of population that is used for the same purpose, with details about birth family, and apostilled), USC's taxes, health insurance coverage (both were covered on both's). No photos were asked, but then again we've been married for nearly 5 years.
The interview took around 40-50 minutes. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
