I had my interview for my K1 visa on the second of November. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.
My interview was at one and I got there a bit early so I was told to come back at one. A line was forming outside the entrance so I went and stood in that. At around one they started letting people in. You have to go through security, similar to airport security, and you have to throw out any liquids you have and put any electronics in a locker, which you get back when you're leaving.
When you go in first you wait in a queue to give someone the documents you have with you and then in another queue to pay the visa fee. After that they tell you to sit down and wait until you're called for your interview. There were five people interviewing for K1 visas the day I was there and I was called fourth, so I was waiting for around an hour. Also they interview you at the little windows so everyone can hear what you're saying, it's not in a private room. The man who interviewed me was lovely and very friendly. The questions he asked were grand, how did you meet, how did the relationship progress etc. Nothing to be too worried about. He also never asked for any additional proof, even though I had loads with me. I also told him about my birthdate being wrong on my application and he changed it right away. He then told me I was approved. 😊😊😊😊
Overall a very straightforward and relaxed experience |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
