I traveled with her to usa. The officer at the border was very nice and it only took a few minutes. He wished us good luck and reminded us to get married within 90 days. No harassment at all. My fiancee even commented afterwards how nice everyone was at the POE. |

The interview went okay. Due to my wife's nationality, the interviewer did ask some odd questions. He wasn't very familiar with Iranian customs or the fact that customs can vary widely across Iran.
The i693 never made it from the embassy to our file. This caused quite a delay. The officer gave us an rfe at the interview; however when we got home we noticed the RFE was addressed to another person for another case. We did a whole new medical, minus the vaccinations because we had records of those. We scheduled an infopass appointment to deliver the medical, sealed of course. They told us 1 to 2 months at that point. 2 months later, we moved and we hadn't heard anything on our case. Scheduled another infopass appointment to make sure address on file was changed properly. We had the same infopass officer as the previous time, which was fortunate. Another rfe had been sent (we never received it). The rfe claimed the medical we provided wasn't sealed. The officer remembered us handing him the sealed documents. He made some adjustments to the file and said we were good. Two weeks later we followed up again with another infopass. Another officer this time. She said still waiting for review of medical documents and wait about a month. Less than a week later, status changed to approved.

Embassy Review : |
My fiancee's experience at the consulate was very good. My fiancee has a bachelor's degree in english, so she did the interview in English without an interpreter. My fiancee was interviewed by a lady CO. My fiancee stated that the lady CO was very kind and professional. They asked her about 10 questions; the typical ones such as "How did you meet?", "have you met his parents?","how will you deal with having different religions?" (We are both secular, so our religious beliefs are very similar). At the end of the interview the lady conducting the interview said the visa is approved and will arrive in about 5 business days. We picked up the passport with the visa about 3 business days later.

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
