Embassy Review : I am happy to be writing that my husband was approved for his CR-1 visa early this morning. His account to me was as follows:

He arrived around 5am for his 6:30am scheduled appointment. The people at the door would not let him (or anyone else) in until 6:30am, so he went back to wait in his car until 6:30am. Around 6:30am they let him inside and did their initial security scanning. They told him to go back outside to open his medical results and then collected that and his police clearance upon entrance. He was about the 10th person in the door. Once inside he sat waiting for about 45 minutes before being called to the window. He was asked very few questions by the CO.

1) Who is calling you in the U.S.?
2) Where did you meet?
3) What was your wife doing there?
4) What were you doing there?

And then the rest of the interview the CO focused on a letter we got from President Obama wishing us good luck in our marriage.

My husband said that overall there was a lot of tension he could sense in the room (among the others there), but that he and the CO were even laughing while talking about the letter from President Obama. After they were done discussing, the CO took his passport, told him he was approved, gave him a white piece of paper with instructions for paying a fee and picking up his visa, and that was it. He was out of there by 9am.

I'm pretty sure they had already made their mind up about my husband before he even arrived. Yes, we prepared 200+ pages of evidence, updated our AOS, etc. but they didn't look at any of it. I believe they looked at all the stuff we submitted to NVC and based their decision off of that.

...I'm a happy lady...

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
