My N-400 combo interview was scheduled for 9:30 AM. I received a notification (text & email) at 9:10 AM from USCIS stating that my I-751 ROC has been approved and the case status changed to "New Card Is Being Produced". This was quite confusing since my wife and I were en-route to the field office. We arrived at 9:20 AM and checked in at the reception. At 9:25 AM the IO invited me to the office and mentioned that my wife does not need to accompany me.
The IO administered the oath and asked for the interview letter and green card. She began by saying that she reviewed my I-751 ROC application earlier and approved it since there was sufficient evidence submitted, and that she'll proceed directly to the citizenship interview. She asked me 6 civics questions, 1 sentence to read, and 1 sentence to write. I passed the tests and we moved on to review the application. After asking all the Yes/No questions and verifying my bio, I signed the forms, and she recommended my application for approval. I was fully prepared to wait a couple of months for our Oath Ceremony, but the officer was very nice and said she would actually be able to get me in to the one they were having at USCIS field office on March 15th. She handed me form N-652 and asked me to wait a few minutes for the Oath Ceremony letter.
At 9:40 AM they handed me the N-445 Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony and my online status changed to "Oath Ceremony Notice Was Mailed". Quite a pleasant experience and surprised that I walked out with an Oath Ceremony letter within 20 minutes.
Questions:
1) If the President can no longer serve, who becomes President?
2) We elect a U.S. Representative for how many years?
3) Who is one of your state’s U.S. Senators now?
4) Who is in charge of the executive branch?
5) How many justices are on the Supreme Court?
6) What major event happened on September 11, 2001, in the United States?
Reading: Who was the first President of the United States?
Writing: Washington was the first President
Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, it helped me prepare and set my expectations for the whole process. Good luck to you all. |

I had my interview at noon today and got approved instantly. The interviewer was so nice and didn't ask us a single question about our marriage. After oath, he asked yes/no questions from 485 and then we chatted about random stuff 30 mins after which he said your green card is approved, good luck. We thanked him, walked out and received a notification that our card is being produced.

Timeline Comments: 8I'm Raghu and I've paid $$$$ to USCIS since 2008 lol
I have been on so many statuses such as F1 (I-20), CPT, OPT, STEM OPT Extension (I-765), H1-B (I-140), H1-B Administrative Processing (221-G), H1-B Extension (Premium Processing), AOS (I-130 and I-485), AP (I-131), EAD (I-765), ROC (I-751), Citizenship (N-400)...
hi raghu is there any way you can share how you get combo interview letter its one letter or two seprate letter or its says only on one letter because i m also waiting for i751 and i got my n 400 interview letter alreay its in april 3 i only get letter for n400 and they didt say anything about i 751 or bring spouse etc can please let me know how you get combo interview information. thanks i m waiting for your reply ðŸ™
I received only one letter from USCIS which was for n-400. I did submit case inquiry regarding combo interview and received a call from my local office a week before the interview where they confirmed it'll be a combo interview and asked me to come along with my wife. Hope that helps, good luck.
thanks for sharing your experience one more question did you change your address since you file i751 and is your n400 interview in new york or other state i spoke to my lawyer today he said they only take n400 interview on april 3 and there is very high chances they approve both together same day and they never allow anyone with candidate in n400 interview they only allow candidate inside for n400 if they require i 751 interview they schedule it seprate or before. thanks
Yes I did change my address after filing I-751 from NY to FL and my N-400 combo interview was in FL. It's good that your lawyer seems to know how NY office works, that should be helpful.
Hello and congratulations on successfully arriving to the end of this process. I am still waiting. Would you be kindly share when did you receive interview letter, if the letter asked you to go alone or with spouse? what questions were asked from you during i-751 interview? Did they tell you after interview if you are approved or not? THANK YOU very much

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
