I was a nervous wreck before the interview!
Flew in from Melbourne the previous night, stayed on York St, just a 5-6 minute walk from the MLC Centre.
Went up to level 10, went through security, and after leaving my bags with the lovely lady by the metal detector, I got into line to have my documents checked by one of two young women*
Went upstairs, took a number, and waited. I was called up to a window and had my documents checked by a really friendly lady. Back to waiting, and then called up to another window by a pretty stern looking dude.
Questions were:
How did you and your fiance meet? (and when and where)
When did you start dating?
When did you get engaged?
Where in the US does he live?
Have you been to visit him since he moved back?
Have you met his family, and has he met yours?
What does he do for a living?
What do you do for a living?
Then he said "everything looks fine, you'll have your passport with the visa in it in about a week" and I was jumping for joy!
*The woman I spoke to INSISTED I go to the shop on the other side of the building to get a self addressed 3kg envelope. I tried to explain that I didn't need one for the K-1 visa, as the cost of the courier is covered by the visa fee. She didn't listen. Refused to let me go up without one. I had to leave my spot in line, buy the dumb envelope, and, surprise surprise, I didn't need it!

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
