She spent over 2 hours with immigration. The guy must have been new and had no idea what a K-1 visa was. It was a nightmare for her. Eventually a russian rep from the airlines asked her if it was her bags that were sitting over there. That was the big help. |

Galina said the interview was a breeze. First I told her that I read that it was better to speak English. The interviewer began to speak in Russian but she told him that she would prefer to do this in English. He was very happy to hear this and they did the whole thing in English which I think won some brownie points. Although Galina did say that they take the money before she had even seen the interviewer. So she thinks they have made the decision already before they arrive. Most all of the questions were personal.
1. How many times has he visited Russia?
2. How many times has your fiance met your son?
3. Do you know about previous marriage?
4. What is the company that your fiance works for?
5. What does he do for work?
Of course there were a few more but it seems that it was mostly about the relationship not so much about any of the documents. As it's said many times in these forums, proof of realtionship is key. Good luck to anyone else going in there. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
