Comments : We arrived in Houston, Texas on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at around 6:30 PM. We went through Immigration were they scanned both of our passports, took the packet and his passport and told us to wait behind the counter. About 3 minutes later another officer came up and took my fiances packet and passport and asked how old he was. He replied: 28 and told me that he was old enough and asked me to wait behind the roped off area while they took him back and went through his packet. So I waited from about 7:25 to 7:50 for him to come out thinking they were grilling him and asking him all kinds of questions, but they weren't, they were very nice (One White Female and One Black Female). When he got out he said they where very nice to him, he said that was the easiest process with the nicest people out of the whole process from the medical to the interview to picking up his paperwork. They were interested in him because he was from Jamaica and asking him personal questions for their interest, they even said they were coming to the wedding. They gave him advice on our relationship (never go to bed mad at her, never leave your wife, etc.). Then they introduced him to another Immigration Officer who was actually Jamaican (Male) and they talked (Speaking their language of Patwah) for a little while and that was it. We went through Customs after we got our bag and that was it.

Event Description

Embassy Review : My fiance went for his interview today at 10 AM and he called me at 1:20 PM, so about 3 and a half hours. They first took all of his paperwork and then he was called up for the interview where they asked the following questions: How did we meet? When did we first see each other after we met? and Do you have any pictures? Which he did. He said when it was all done she said we will send your passport through DHL when it's ready. And that was it.... She didn't exactly state that he was approved, but I'm thinking and hoping he is! The Jamaica side is over and I am sooooo happy!!!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
