Port of Entry Review
Event Date
Port of Entry : Houston
POE Date : 2016-06-28
Got EAD Stamp :
Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : POE:Landed at 3:11pm and went to immigration line.
I was in the queue for like 10 minutes when I stepped up to the officer. The questions were:

1. How long are you staying?
2. Are you planning on going back?
3. Where is your brown envelope and passport?

I handed over and told to stand over by wall for someone to call for me.
and took me into secondary questioning. The system was done so it was very backlogged, There were many people there waiting.
I was there for 2 hrs.
Had bio-metrics. Was pretty easy no hassle. Just long, long time. Finally was able to go get luggage and go meet my wife almost 4 hours after landing. That was the hardest part.
I had been traveling since 11am the following day so it was too much.
But I am home now.
Houston is a beautiful POE and massive big.

Embassy Review : Interview day April 29th, 2016, 7:0am
Well we left hotel about 6am we were just about 15 minutes drive away. Got to embassy and saw the line. I think they say the queue. About 100 people yaking up 3 rows.

I got my binder/folder and 2 albums and my wife had all our stuff and stood under the tree. It was getting ready to rain.

At about 6:46am I was let in the security building (not the embassy we are across the street from there). I guess this is what you call the processing center.
Bags checked. Bodies scanned and then I presented my interview letter.

We were then taken across the street to the Embassy (it started pouring ran. My pour Nkem).
Once inside the embassy bags and books and thing are put on the scanner and we walk through metal detector machine. I make it beep. Oh Lord I think. I have to take off belt and shoes (which took me some working to get on).

All is fine and now I struggle to get redress and my shoes are making me sweat na o. I am now sweating crazy. Thank God for my hanky my wife gave me.

Now we get our number and stand in a line to hand over our original documents, passport. I hand over my wife's also to let them know she is here. They give back say they don't need it. This must have been 2 hours wait. Standing all this while.

Finally I get to sit down. I am listening to all the interviews and seems everyone is getting Approved. I knew I would have no wahala.

Then my number comes up about 45 minutes after I sit. It's about 9:00am. I get window 13. With a white woman CO. She says hello, raise my right hand I take the oath, Than my fingerprints are done.
Now the interview begins. Here are the questions she asked in order.

1. Who's calling you? typing typing typing
2. Her middle name are you the one giving that to her? typing typing typing,
She smiles and says "that's nice".
3. How many times has she visited you? typing typing typing
4. When last you saw her? (she's out side the CO said "Really, that's great")
she's typing typing typing
5. Have you ever been married before? typing typing typing
6. Do you have any children? typing typing typing

*******she said excuse me and left the booth to go to another room to talk to someone or something. Came back after about 4 minutes.**********

7. Has your wife been married before? typing typing typing
8. To who? What is his name? typing typing typing
9. Is he a Nigerian? typing typing typing...stop o Looked and got up and left.

She left again for a while it seemed forever. Came back said "sorry, You have answered all our questions, We have everything we need from you. But our system is not accessing the information we need to complete our processing.
We will not be able to resolve this today. Please give us 60 days and we will call or email you. If we haven't contacted you within 60 days do feel free to contact us. I am sorry for the inconvenience to you. And I apologize".

She handed me the paper saying AP and told me to hold on to my passport until they need it.

My face was not kind at this point I was in shock. She kept saying sorry. I just sad fine and tuned and dropped my papers. Not happy as it seemed every face in the room was looking upon me.

I don't understand this process at all. How can this happen and no one tells you nothing. Our case was received at embassy March 29th. The first update was 2 days before interview. Does that mean they let our case sit for almost a month. Then 2 days before they start preparing for our interview. She seemed not very prepared.

All I could think about was going outside to tell my wife this sad news. I was disappointed and mad at same time.

The CO lady seemed friendly never rude, listening to me, asking me questions. It was like talking to a friend.

Me and my wife have faith that the process will be fine we aren't worried. Nothing can break us. We have a saying between us "it's us against the world". So we will wait, however long it takes. We commit it to God's hands now.
I thank God for the opportunity and the privilege to have had this experience with US Immigration. Thanks to my wife I have learned so much. But lt me say this here and now, I am most grateful to my beautiful great wife Nkem. You know her as Dwheels76. She is the best.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
