Embassy Review : |
Husband reached the Embassy at 6:15 AM and waited for the Shuttle, his interview was at 7:00 AM. He had a binder with him of documents and proof because we wanted to make sure he has everything in case he was asked for it. He submitted his passport at the first counter, they took his finerprints and photos, then submitted Nikkah Nama (Marriage certificate) at a different window. He waited until he was called. The consular did not ask him for any document or evidence, the consular took out the pictures sent at USCIS level and asked where it was taken and my hubby said it was taken in Murree, Pakistan. The consular then gave him back all pictures sent at USCIS level, did not ask for any single document. These are the questions he was asked.
Where did you meet your wife?
He told our story, we knew each other since childhood and had been committed last 15 years
What does your wife do?
What was her hire date?
Have you traveled to any Middle Eastern country?
My hubby traveled to Iran in 2007.
The counselor told my hubby that our case looked good, submitting for approval but it must go through mandatory administrative processing and will take between 2-3 months. The only reason I believe that he was put under AP was because of his travel to Iran.
AP lasted for 1 month and 6 days, he was issued the visa 2 days ago.
Tips:
I was very picky about my husband having every single documents that I had submitted at the USCIS and NVC level with translations of any foreign language document. I put a binder together full of everything and loads of evidence JUST in case because it's possible that you're asked for them. We were NOT asked for anything but that's not always the case so better be careful then sorry. Also, I am sure he was a lot more confident because he had everything with himmand our case was also straight forward and pretty strong. |
