There was no harrasment at all. After landing on Tacoma Int'l airport, I got on the line for first time travelers, got me checked then an officer directed me on the Immigration Officer on a different area. I waited for 30 minutes and then after the Officer took my K1 visa packet along with my passport. He asked me about my full name, name of my fiance and the address of my fiance. He then welcomed me as well. :) |

I am a March 2015 AOS Filer and my GC got approved on the spot.
So here's what I brought on the AOS Interview;
1. INTERVIEW LETTER plus all the letters we received when we applied for AOS under K1. The guards will ask it right away and the front desk as well to give you a number
2. Passport of me and my husband
3. Birth Certificate (2 of us)
4. Marriage Certificate/License
5. All joint accounts that we have ( joint savings and checking bank account, rental lease, utility bills, life insurance)
6. 2 Personal letters coming from our friend and relative that they know us having a bonafide marriage
7. My husband's job offer letter
8. bank statements
9. All W2s and ITRs (2012-2014), Pay Stubs (last 2 months)
10. Social Security Card
11. I-94 and Travel history
12. Copies of the whole AOS papers I sent USCIS
13. Pictures
I think the most important here are the joint accounts that you have. The Immigration Officer photocopied everything that we have.
Here's the summary of our Interview;
We went there around 11:10am for our 11:15am interview. The guard asked the interview letter and we did the checking of things in our bags. After, we went inside the room and went to the front desk to give the interview letter. The lady asked us to wait. After 5 minutes , the Immigration Officer approached us and we headed to her office inside the long hallway of offices.
When we're at her office, she let us swear and raised our right hand to tell nothing but the truth. So after that, the questions began.
She first asked me my complete name, if I have aliases, the address of where we lived, my birthday, where's my POE, what date did I entered, our wedding date, when and where did me and my husband meet. She let me tell our love story :) Also, my previous addresses outside US, my previous job, my birthday. and if I was refused before on coming here in the US, when did we became bf/gf, our anniversary, if I have EAD card or driver's license and needs to show her.
She also asked my husband his job and the history of his previous jobs, his previous address, how did we meet and where, when did he proposed, if he met my family, his birthday, where did we go on our honeymoon.
After that, we got approved right away :) Thank you Lord!
I will add some questions if I forgot something but basically it's all about our whole relationship as bf/gf until we got married. Our interview was actually very detailed though but to me, if you're in a REAL relationship , you'll have no problems at all because you'll know this by heart :)
My tip is really prepare/organize all your papers and try to relax on the interview itself. Dress properly. My husband and I wore our suits and I guess it's better to be overdressed than under dress most especially you'll be talking to an Immigration Officer. Try also to review everything with your husband the day before like make a Q and A questions on your relationship. That's what we did :)
Most importantly, pray before going outside your car and ask for God's guidance and everything will be alright. :)

Hi everyone,
I got approved on my citizenship interview today 😊 Big thanks to visajourney and to all those who shared their experiences here even way back from K1 visa, AOS, ROC and now Citizenship interview :)
Sharing my experience today too before I forget. So my schedule was 8:45 am today here in Boston under 3 year rule and luckily my husband accompanied me today since his work is flexible. We came in around 8 am and of course the same routine , checking all bags while I brought my interview letter, green card and all my papers with the original copy. We waited for almost 2 hours since the IO in charge on my case is quite backlog but it’s okay I was able to review more civic exam questions and read through my application one more time. After, the IO called my name and my husband walked with me through the IO and the IO asked me who he was and I said he’s my husband and so he told my husband just to wait for me outside and it’s good he acknowledged him though. :)
While on his office, I stand and swear with my right hand to say nothing but the truth then we began by first asking my green card , letting me look at the camera and do some index fingerprinting. After that, he started asking me the civic questions at least 7 items (since I missed one question) , as well as reading one sentence and writing one sentence and that’s it he said I passed. 😊 After that, he went out then came back again then just asked a series of questions such as the yes or no questions then after some personal background questions. He said I’ll be receiving a letter regarding the Oath Ceremony sometime in September after 7 to 10 business days. And then he said congratulations! 😊
Wishing everyone the best on their N400 journey. |

Embassy Review : |
I went early on my time of interview around 5:30- 6:00 am but there was a long line already at the US embassy. It was nerve wracking especially when I saw most who were in line for immigrants/fiance brought their American fiance with them and I'm just alone. Anyway, the line for Immigrants was fast. I was inside the embassy in no time and my first interview was a local consul. He asked me the name of my fiance and where will be my destination. He asked how did we met. After that, I waited for the fingerprinting and then the last part which I was so nervous was the US Consul. It was a unique experience because there were 2 US consuls that time on the booth. I believe the other one was a new consul that's why that time, the new consul asked me a lot of questions and they were both listening on my answers. She first asked me about how did we meet, what year, when was the last time my fiance visited me ,how many years did my fiance now husband stayed in California, and his work. She did not even told me that moment if I'm approved or not,she said I just have to wait so I sat back again and waited. After 15-20 minutes, a man from the counter called my name and he told me my visa is approved and it will be delivered on my address. Thank God. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
