Consulate Review: Juarez, Mexico
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 6, 2015
Embassy Review : My Fiance arrived earlier than I did to the central de autobuses in Juarez, after I arrived we caught a taxi to City Junior Express. We did an early check in around 8am on Monday May 11, 2015. We settled in our hotel room showered and prepared documentation for Jorge's Medical exam. We walked over to Clinica Medica International with our appointment letter and all supporting documents. When we arrived there were sooooo many people. I thought ok were good we have an appointment so that should be respected right? Wrong our appointment was at 9:30 am we got there at 9am and he didn’t go into the doctor’s office until 1pm. I was extremely upset why would they recommend to make an appointment if they are not going to respect the appointment itself. He got out at 3pm so we went straight to Wendy's we were starving. They did not give him his results that same day (another shocker), so we went back the next day Tuesday May 12, 2015 and picked it up in the morning after we had breakfast in the hotel. Later on the day Jorge had his Biometrics appointment at 3:15pm, so after we picked up the Medical Results we walked over to the biometrics office, and good thing we did I tell ya it was around 12pm when we walked over there and they were already taking in appointments for 1:15pm! So Jorge and I stood around to observe the biometrics office and the people that were coming out of their interviews to the waiting area where their family members waited, since they are right next to each other. After that we hurried to the hotel and gathered all his documents and headed back when we got there it was 2:30pm and he almost didn’t make it he had to run to go in with everybody who had the 3:15pm appointment. He was out by 3:45 pm. The next day Wednesday May 13, 2015 at 7:00am was the interview so that night prior we arranged all the documents in order and set our alarms to 5:30 am. That morning we woke up showered and left to the waiting area in the Consulado we got over there at around 6:30 am and again good thing we did his time was already getting in line. He got in line waited. After he got in line they sat him in some chairs that were in the front part of the waiting area. About 20 mins later they walked his group to the front of the Consulado, where they stood in line outside once again with security. Once they were inside he said that he had to go to certain sitting areas in certain colored chairs and wait to be called up to different windows to drop off documents. Lastly he said once he turned in most of the documents he had with him, he sat down and waited a while until they called him up for the interview. He says the lady that interviewed him was extremely nice first he said that she greeted him and asked him if he spoke English, he said “No”, so she said :no ay ningun problema yo hablo espanol” then she prompted him to take a seat. Jorge said she was going through what seemed to him be the original petition we mailed out. He said that she was telling him how she used to live in Colorado, was laughing at some pictures that we sent and after that she asked him for affidative of support documents and then asked him questions. Where I lived, my birthdate, my complete address, my phone number, my parents names, how we met, what dates I went to visit him in the past year, and if he liked snow! My now husband replied to each and every question except for the snow he says he told her "I don't know I have never seen snow." And She replied "Well get ready because you’re going to Colorado! Your visa is APPROVED!" My husband thanked her and he left back to the waiting area where I was waiting eagerly. Uggghhh he goes and tries to trick me and tells me that it was denied I almost cried lol , but then he said just kidding they approved it!!! We celebrated by going out to eat breakfast at Denny’s. The next day we did laundry and checked the status of the Visa in the DHL website the whole day. On Friday May 15, 2015 we checked all day and nothing so we decided to leave it and hoped it would come on Saturday since I made the reservation for the hotel until Saturday (because of all the lovely reviews here), and so we relaxed and went out to celebrate once again with dinner and a movie in the mall in front of the hotel. On Saturday morning we woke up and ate breakfast in the hotel and then we checked the visa status in the DHL it looked to be that as soon as we decided to not to check it, the visa came in ugghhh. We took a taxi straight to the DHL center. Jorge went on in and I had to wait in the Taxi since they only allow the person picking up the package into the DHL office. After that we went back to the hotel and checked out, we took their shuttle to the POE: The Ysleta Bridge. While we were in the POE it took us about 30 mins to get the visa stamped. After that we were on our way to our new life together in our new home.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
