Event Description
Review Date : August 29, 2015
Embassy Review : We were called approximately half an hour after the appointment time. The lady that interviewed us apologized for our wait. She had us raise our right hand to swear that we are who we say we are and that we will not lie under oath. Then she just asked a few very basic questions like where did we meet, am I still a student or working, what kind of wedding did we have, and who was at the wedding. I offered her more wedding photos (we had a civil one and then a ceremony 5 months later) but she said she didn't need anything more. She didn't even ask to see any of the original documents that we brought aside from our IDs and my passport. Lastly she just went through the routine questions (yes/no) that were in the application itself. And then told me to expect the card in 3-4 weeks, and to remember to remove condition in 2 years. The entire interview took only 15 minutes, shorter than the wait time

One thing that I asked her about was that I wanted to use my maiden name as my middle name and she said the USCIS doesn't have the power to do that, HOWEVER, she did tell me that I can do it at the naturalization ceremony in 3 years, since there will be a judge to swear you in.
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
