Local US CIS Office Review: Detroit MI

Event Description
Review Date : October 21, 2016
Embassy Review : We arrived about 15 minutes early and waited for about 20 before we were called in. It's very laid back, not much to worry about as long as you have your paperwork together. She asked the basic questions about how we met and if he planned to overthrow the government and then my husband managed to screw up both our wedding date and my birth date when she asked. The officer was pretty nice though and laughed it off and told us to relax, there was no need to be nervous and she was probably going to approve us. She looked at his birth certificate and a few of the pictures we brought in and took the evidence we submitted (proof of joint account, health insurance, lease) and that was about it! By the time we got home our online status had updated to case approved. All very easy and straightforward, even when you mess up some basic questions!
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
