POE in Maine by car was a bit annoying. The officer had never done a K1 before so spent most of the time asking the same questions that the Embassy already had. Eventually I told him that we already have the K1 so no need to ask questions to check the validity of our relationship again, just process the K1 and stop with the nonsense. An hour later we got through. Officer was a bit of an idiot and evidently bored with his job. |

Took 2 months to get the card after we were approved. The card is only good for one year and it's starts when it's approved. So only actually valid for use for 10 months. |

Embassy Review : |
This is the review my Fiance gave me:
He arrived in Montreal from St. Johns, NL at about 7:20am. He first went to the Medisys to pick up his medical paperwork. He then arrived at the consulate at approximately 7:40am when they opened. They informed him that he is not allowed a bag nor electronics, so he walked next door and politely asked the pharmacy if he could stow his bag there. They were very kind and understanding and the woman behind the counter took his bag for him happily. She said it's not the first time she has been asked.
After taking care of that, he returned to the consulate, went through basic security measures (similar to TSA) got his ticket and proceeded to the 19th floor where he sat until his number was called.
Once his number was called, went to the window and gave them his basic background information, birth certificate, police and military records etc. He did some finger printing and then returned to his seat to wait for the interview. He mentioned that everything looked like a DMV window.
When his number was called he went to the window and swore an oath about not commiting purgery and begn his interview. The questions were:
How and when did you meet your fiancee?
What are your plans once you enter the US?
How do you plan to support yourself?
Have you or your fiancee been married previously?
How many times have you and your fiancee visited each other?
What does your fiancee do for work?
Have you ever been arrested?
After he answered all the questions, the interviewer took his passport and told him he was approved.
His approximate time from when he entered the consulate until when he was approved was 30 minutes.
He said the interviewer was stern but not rude. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
