My interview was on the 9th of November at the Montreal consulate. My Fiancé and I drove up the night before from Niagara Falls and stayed at the Marriott Downtown Courtyard it was a 4 minute walk away from the consulate. Our interview was at 7:40am we got there at 6:30am, we were the first people in line. Around 7:00am people started lining up outside the consulate. The guards came out a little while later and asked for us to get our interview letters and passports ready then they handed out the numbers, I was number one. The lady asked me to go inside to show my letter and passport, they asked to see my Fiancés passport as well. We then went through security which wasn't bad since we only had our documents and coats, they put our things through the scanner then asked us to head downstairs to sit and wait for the elevator. After we got off the elevator we were asked to sit in the middle section of chairs and to wait for our number to be called. Once our number was called we went up to window 1 to have my fingerprints taken and to hand in the documents.
The lady asked for the card with the number they gave me, the interview letter, my passport and a copy, two passport photos, and medical report. Then she asked for my police check and a copy, birth certificate and a copy, my Fiancés divorce papers and a copy, letter of intent. Then I was asked for the affidavit of support and the evidence. Then she told me to have a seat and wait to be called for the interview. 5 minutes later we were called to the interview room and the gentleman said my Fiancé could stay with me in the room. I had to swear everything was true and had to answer a few questions. I was asked how we met, if I was ever arrested, where I lived, what I did for work, if I was ever refused entry to the U.S, if I have ever lived anywhere other than Canada, If I have been to the U.S and if it was for more then 6 months, the address where I plan on living in the U.S. He then said my Visa was approved and gave me the Welcome to the United States paper and we then left to head back to our hotel. The interview only took about 10 minutes. We were in and out before 8:30am. The interview went smooth, the gentleman was very nice and liked to joke around with us. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
