Embassy Review : I arrived at the US Embassy around 07:30am for an 08:00am appointment time. I was directed to a middle line for Immigrant Visas. The line on my left was for 08:00am Non-Immigrant and on the right was 08:30am Non-Immigrant.

I was the 5th person into the embassy with number I905. After waiting around 30 minutes I was called to a window to hand over all my documents (birth certificate, police certificate, payment of visa and courier, passport, passport photo and affidavit of support). The lady congratulated me for getting married and asked me when I was planning on leaving and told me I must go by 21st July (6 months from my medical). She told me to sit back down until my number was called again for my interview.

30 minutes later, I was called to another window where I was sworn under oath and fingerprinted for my interview. The US gentleman asked the below questions. Upon seeing my fiancés birth certificate, he said: your fiancé is from Texas? So am I.

How did you meet your fiancé?
How have you kept your relationship up since returning to the UK?
Have you met his parents?
What are their names?
What are their jobs?
When do you plan on going?
Why America and not England?
You're approved! Expect your passport back in 2 weeks.

I thanked him and left the window. Simple as that. I was out of the embassy by 09:10am where I called my fiancé and told him the great news!
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: Orlando
Event Description
Entry Date : 2016-04-20
Embassy Review : Luckily, my plane seat was right by the exit door of the aircraft for when I landed. I walked to Immigration and was told to enter the Visitors line for the K1 visa. I waited for 5 minutes and was seen by a lady who asked me, why I was visiting and if my fiancé was travelling with me. She then said: let's go process your paperwork and took my passport and big envelope to a room.

A gentleman came out of an interview room, took my passport and paperwork back into the room while I waited outside. I could hear him open the envelope and begin stamping some papers. 10 minutes later, he called my name and I entered the room, he showed me visa and said you have 90 days to get married. Don't leave the country unless you have advanced parole otherwise you won't enter the States again on the same status. Good luck. And that was it. Simple entry.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
