Consulate Review: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Event Description

Embassy Review : What helped us the most was organization of all needed documents, in the order according to the consulate e-mail. We also had the sealed medical package with us. We stayed in a hotel close to the consulate, and arrived there before 7:00 AM, our interview was scheduled for 7:20. There was a small line, outside.
We were formally dressed, me: withe silk blouse, light blue blazer and navy blue skirt; my husband: white shirt, navy blue with red stripes details tie, and black pants.
When the gate was open, we were guided to the mezzanine. "Alex" gave us a big and a small form to be filled up. I was the first to finish, so he called me to collect the original documents that we brought. Then he asked us to sit at the firs row of chairs. The consulate assistant called me, and went through the NVC copies and the our originals required documents. Glad that we have 2 originals and at least 2 copies of the documents. The assistant finally said that everything was ok, for the interview with the consul.
"Alex" asked us to sit on the 2nd row of chairs. It took a while and the consul called me. My husband remained seated. She asked me to raise my right hand, and if I vow to say the truth, I said: Yes! She asked how we have met each other, I answered how and when. Then why we wanted to live in the U.S., I told her the very main reason, basically related to my husband welfare. I also told that I love the U.S. and the American family and friends that we have there, how I miss them. Then she said: 'Congratulations, your visa was approved!' I was so,happy that my brain shut down! She said something else related to pay the mail package delivery, for my passport.
I went to the post office close by and paid for the "Sedex'. Then I came back to give the receipt to 'Alex', kept a copy to myself with the number to follow the delivery. We left, and went back to the hotel and slept until 3 PM.
Rating : Very Good
