Consulate Review: Sydney, Australia
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 29, 2015
Embassy Review : Appointment was at 8 am , lifts do not open until 7.30 am. Toilets are on level 7 if you are really nervous like I was lol.

Get off at level 10, if the door to the embassy is closed, then take a seat and wait, they call out when its open.

Go through security, then at the next desk you can check in your bag, then they will have you line up. When called go to the counter where they sort out your paperwork. Once done, take a seat and wait for the security guard to call you up to get in the lift.

Once you get to the embassy floor you have to report to security again, they then buzz you into the room of doom (interview area). You have to show your passport at all security checks so keep it handy.

Once inside the processing/interview room, take a ticket from the machine for visas and sit down in the middle .

They call you up pretty quickly and sort through your paperwork, they ask questions about the paperwork if need be.

Then you sit down again and wait to be called for the interview.

I was asked
Partners Name
What she does for work
How we met
When have I gone to the USA to visit
Have I been arrested
They also asked my teenage sons if they had been arrested.

The guy was friendly and had a great smile, which helped me relax.

We were approved there and then, he wished us a good day and that was it.

P.S. a couple people were approved pending a letter from their fiancé confirming they still wished to go ahead with the k1, because the NOA 2 had expired before the interview.

Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
