Comments : The interview itself was very short, but the wait time was around 2 hours. Interview questions were similar to all the others posted prior to our interview. Since I had previously worked at the Embassy in Pakistan, once they confirmed that, and he answered where, the questions were:

Why didn't you get married while she was living here?
and
When are you planning to get married?

They didn't ask for proof of relationship nor for the financial information. In fact, he asked them if they needed to see them, or the letter on his security review, and they said no.

Comments : We received a letter in September 2015 stating that it would be another 6 months or so because they didn't have enough staff to process the application. But the interview was waived. January 2016, online still registers the June 1 Fingerprint fee, that's it. SIGH.

Member Reviews:

Consulate Review: Islamabad, Pakistan
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : April 6, 2015
Embassy Review : My fiancée's interview went quite smoothly. After waiting almost two hours, a female interviewer called him in. They asked him the usual questions:

What is your fiancée's name?
Where does she live?
What are her parents' names?
What does she do?

Then they got more specific:

Did she live here?
Did she work at the Embassy?
What did she do?
Why didn't you get married while she was here?
When will you get married?

They didn't check his proof of relationship and said he was approved!

He did say that many people that he had watched while he was waiting were denied because they got angry, or aggressive with the Consulate workers, they didn't have their paperwork, or they answered a question or two wrong and the questions just got harder from there.

He said that the Consular workers were all respectful and nice and that it was a very good experience for him.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
