October 20th.
I walked up to the building, and at first I had trouble finding the immigration line, but it's there. A sign in front of the other non-immigration line. I arrived earlier than my appointment, at around 8:10. Was called up to the security window and both me and my daughter who I had with me, took our jackets off. Very kind security guards. Since I didn't want to walk through Stockholm without a bag, I did bring a bag with me, wide enough to fit my documents. There were no problems, I just showed them the inside of the bag before I was let in for the secondary security check (like the airport kind). Gave my cell phone to them and received a card for the return of my phone. Followed the yellow line, went into the embassy. Sat down at a table, but soon my name was called up to window A. Spoke to a kind young lady, she was Swedish but we spoke English anyway. I gave her the documents she wanted, wasn't much. The marriage certificate was probably the most important thing here. Sat down again, to wait for the actual interview. I thought it was going to be conducted inside a room, but I was called up to window D, a young American guy, very friendly, told me that is the interview. He also said hello to my daughter The interview was over rather quickly, we've been married for 14 years and I had our daughter with me. The interviewer were relaxed and joking around with me a bit, I think he could see that I was not super nervous. There's no need to be really, unless if you have a super complicated case. They didn't even want our 2014 tax return that the interview letter had stated. Perhaps because our joint-sponsors tax return was with them already. Great experience! Just a bit dark and crowded in there, and I wished we could have sat down for the interview in more private but it is over rather quickly anyway. I will get my package and passport back after 10 days he told me. Can't wait. |

I feel lucky having had this particular office, since I did my first green-card in California during the time of 9/11/2001 and that was a nightmare.
I arrived 10 min before my appointment, and waited another 10 before getting called in. All in all, the Civics test and some small talk, the interview only took me some 20 minutes. He didn't even look at some of the original copies I had with me, since the letter stated that you should bring the originals with you since I submitted copies electronically. (I actually photographed them with my cell phone, lol).
Great relaxed office that isn't crowded and seem well-staffed. Lucky me! |

Timeline Comments: 1Hi! May I ask you a question please? How far in advance did you get a notification about your interview scheduled? I am also going to the Raleigh office.
Thanks,
Elena
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
