Consulate Review: France
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : June 25, 2006
Embassy Review : My interview was scheduled at 1 pm. I arrived at the consulate around 12h30. I wasn't allowed to enter before 1. SO 1pm is 1 pm, don't expect to be let in before the actual appointment time.
The consulate is VERY messy and loud. I was compelled to ask persons around about what to do as I was feeling pretty lost: no panels, no signs, just people sitting in the waiting room. A lady that was waiting told me: "just sit down; they will call your name later".
20 mins later, a lady talked in the microphone and asked people who had their interview scheduled for 1 pm to walk to her and turn in the appointment letters. After that phase, I went back to my seat.
An hour later, I was called by the vice consul. I gave her all my papers. She asked me some basic questions like"How did you meet? What's her name?Have you ever been to the US?". She then looked at my papers and told me that I can go back to my seat and the Consul herself will call me later to give her final decision.
So I finally got my name called by the Consul. She spent 1 min in looking at my files and told me that I would get my visa in 2 to 3 days.
I didn't give the maximum rating because of the chaotic impression you get once you are in the waiting room. But people are really friendly!
Good luck
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
