Event Date
Port of Entry : Chicago
POE Date : 2015-01-19
Got EAD Stamp : Yes,Passport Stamp
Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 5
Comments : Entry took over 4 hours, and caused me to miss my connecting flight out of Chicago to Phoenix. This delay forced me to stay overnight in Chicago, waiting for the next available flight. The officer processing my Visa was quite rude. He tossed my stamped Visa at me and stated, "Another idiot comes to the US."

My interview and civics test went very well. I studied the info from USCIS videos and felt very prepared. I brought a copy of the packet we filed, which was needed. I was able to also complete my Oath Ceremony on the same day of the interview.

Consulate Review: Skopje, Macedonia
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : January 9, 2015
Embassy Review : I flew to Macedonia to be available for the interview with my fiance. When he was escorted in, the security told that me that I had to wait across the street and not on the premises, because American citizens weren't allowed at the American embassy. So, I waited at a nearby coffee shop. Three hours later, my fiance returned, with instructions to return the next day for new passport pics (apparently his were used for a travel Visa a few months before), and that they wanted to interview me also. We returned the next day where I was interviewed, and my fiance was interviewed a second time. We did not receive immediate approval, and received a phone call on 12/29 with the approval and new appointment date to pick up his Visa on 01/07/15. All people we interacted with were very nice, but our worries over this longer process was very stressful. We are very thankful for being approved!
Rating : Moderate

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
