Oath Ceremony : 2021-03-22
Comments : Biometrics waived. Had my interview on 2/23/21. Was in the Tampa office less than an hour. Was asked to read and write When is President's Day? Wrote President's Day is in February. Got 6 questions correct. Officer reviewed my documents and went over some questions in the form. Then she handed me a piece of paper saying I passed the Interview and recommended for Approval.

3-22-2021: Attended my oath taking ceremony at the Tampa office today. It was really quick. After security we were seated inside this big hall. Upon entering they took my oath taking letter and old and current green card. At my seat there is a big envelope that has forms for passport application and voters registration. We started with a speech by the local Tampa office director and raised our right hand for the oath taking. They then distributed the certificates and advised we are free to leave if there are no errors on the certificates. Picture taking was not allowed inside the building. It was a quick and simple ceremony.

Embassy Review : We had our interview on February 9. We started lining up as early as 5:30 AM. We finally got inside the embassy premises a little past 7 AM.

There were basically 5 main steps to complete the interview for the day: Prescreening, biometrics, oath taking, interview, release/receiving. While there were so many people, I thought it was organized in general. There was confusion at first but as long as you read the signs and follow the ushers' directions you'll be ok.

Just a tip though: You will wait a long while for oath taking and especially for the interview. My fiancé and I were so hungry at this point lol.

I think it was almost 11 AM when we were interviewed by a CO. The CO one assigned to us was friendly. He asked both my fiancé and I questions. I was so happy when he said 'I see no problems here' and then confirmed we have been approved

Our embassy experience, while long, was pleasant

Rating : Good

POE Review: Detroit
Event Description
Entry Date : 2015/04/19
Embassy Review : POE was interesting. The female officer asked me questions about my fiancé, how we met, his job. She wondered why it took me long to come here (visa approved February 9. Had to stay for another two months to finish work). I explained this to her and she said, ok that's all, good luck.

I was already at the baggage carousel and pulling my luggage away when she called me back. I was nervous at this point but remained calm. She said she just forgot to ask one more thing. She noticed my visa application was so close to the expiry date (Feb 13, got approved Feb 9). She didn't really ask anything additional, but told me she just needed her supervisor to validate it. A male office came in, signed off on my papers, and said I was good to go.

Everything took maybe less than 15 mins. All they asked from me was the yellow packet.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
