Approved with no questions. POE was in Dallas and was all good. Was told to sit down while the opened the yellow envelope and was called up and was told "You're fine, 90 days" while handing back my passport. |

I had my interview for 7:45am on the 15th July, my fiancé was with me as well which was great!
You go through security as per usual, take off shoes and check-in your items to leave on level 10.
We then proceeded to another counter where girls go through your paper work and make sure you are only taking the necessary upstairs to level 57... the most annoying part is where they advised me to get a postage bag for $20 when you actually don't need it because they courier your visa to you once approved (without having to pay). So I just paid for a postage bag for nothing, waste of money! So if they advise you to get one- insist and tell them you don't need it!
My fiancé and I sat down and waited for the next free elevator where the guards took us up to level 57. Once there, there is another person that checks your documents and then advise you to go inside and line up. You then line up and they go through your paperwork again. They advised us to take a number and sit down. You hear basically everything because they talk through a microphone ... one interview we heard about a persons criminal record from 1983! Nothing is private. My fiancé was shocked as he had never seen that before - its good that he came so he knows what we have to go through for them! Lol
Anyway, after only 5 minutes of sitting down - I was called to the window on the very left where a lovely american lady was smiling. It really helped that she was warm, friendly and sociable. She only asked me a few questions as I think it was pretty obvious that my relationship is legitimate.. I mean my fiancé was right next to me and he flew all the way from USA just for this. 
She joked when we first approached and said "Soooo Im guessing you're the petitioner?" She was really personable.
The questions she asked me were: how did we meet, how did he propose - and of course I told our story of how my fiancé kind of stuffed up his proposal and she laughed and then she just asked what he does for a living, where do I intend to live, then just about myself and where I grew up and where I live now.
NOTE: It didn't feel like an interview to be honest, it felt like a natural conversation. We made a few jokes. It was nice.
She then advised that everything is great and we are approved once she receives my New Zealand Police Record (which I am still waiting on!!!) Turns out that they can also request for your NZ Police Record at the consulate since the processing time for NZ records are currently at a slow pace and can take up to 20 working days!!!! I am on day 15 working days!!!! argh. So hopefully once the US Consul requests for it, it is expedited.
WEEEEEEEE. My fiance flew back that evening and I flew back home as well drinking a glass of wine on the plane to celebrate  I can't wait to get married and start living like a normal couple again!!! <3
So technically, we have been approved... just waiting on that bloody NZ record.
