Embassy Review :
I would like to share my detailed up to date experience with US Embassy Abu Dhabi for K-1 Visa. I noticed that no one is posting new reviews although so many people got their visas already and they are now in US.

- The time in appointment letter was 8:00 AM but you should be there about 7:00 AM.
- Do not carry with you any bag even briefcase otherwise they won’t let you inside. You can put your papers (if they are so much) in plastic nylon bag.
mBetter to leave mobile in car, or hotel, you can use it until youre waiting outside, but they will take mobiles once you’re in and will give you a number to collect once youre done with the interview.

You will stand in the queue for security check. Make sure to tell the security guy which visa you are. There is different queue for Non-immigrant visa and another one for immigrant visa.

All K1 applicants besure to stand in immigrant line. I know the visa is non-immigrant but the Abu Dhabi embassy keeps the whole procedure same for K1 as immigrant.

- Once you finished the security you will be allowed to go inside. They will give you token number and you sit and wait until you see your number called and shown on the screen

- Once they call your number, you go to the window and the CO will ask for your papers. She will ask all the copies and leave all the originals with you (except police certificates).

For all Pakistanis, please arrange your police certificate from Pakistan as well. I see a lot of confusion on internet whether to bring PC from Pakistan or not. I requested via email, prior to interview and they replied to arrange the PC from pakistan too, though I had travelled 2 other countries and also had police certificates from those countries and never been to Pakistan for almost 6 years, still they asked me to supply PC from Pakistan.

She will take original PC, (Medical exam results without x –ray film) + I-134 affidavit of support and the passport 2 photos (2”X2”).

- She did not take any evidence of relationship (no one asked for this in the whole process even in the interview, not photos nor chat ....etc) ( But it is recommended to take everything with you that can support your relationship.) I was not asked , does not mean you won’t be asked.

- She will give you a Blue card and tell you to go to window number 1 to pay the fees for K-1 visa ($265), take them cash with you. ( you can pay in USD or AED whatever you have )

- Get the receipt and wait for a lady to call your number for finger prints.

Once finger printing is done, you have to wait again.

- You will sit and think that your number will show on the screen again. But it won’t. Instead, someone will call your number on the speaker and one lady will guide you to the door.
- You open the door and enter that room. It is the interview room with one window.
- An American CO will conduct the interview. ( my interview was not more than 3 minutes).

- He is so professional the questions are all normal ones nothing difficult or challenging, just confirming the information about you and your fiancé(e). All the answers in the papers in your both lives
- After that he will inform you that the interview is done and the visa will be ready in 3-5 business days
- He will hand you pink carton card with the day to pick up your visa circled (at 2 PM).

Picking up the visa:

- They won’t let anyone inside before 1:45 PM.
- You will go through the same security check and go inside and given token number.
- Once your number is called, you will pick up your passport with new visa and the brown sealed envelope (DO NOT OPEN).
- Go home and prepare for your wedding lol javascript:emoticon('')

Impression
- All experience was professional and neat and organised. Awesome experience free of any annoyance

Good luck everyone
God bless ☺
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
