Embassy Review : |
Today my visa was approved. Thank you to the VJ community for your help. I followed Saylin's pictures and members' WIKI and all went smooth, needless to say I was a wreck. I drove to Montreal from Ottawa yesterday, picked up my results from Medisys, and stayed at the Philips Square suites. A little pricy but very close and they put my bags in my car and charged me one day parking $22, good until 2pm today. I also ate in, as there is a kitchen in the room. I went to the embassy at 6:50 because I could not sleep or eat, so why not. My appointment was for 10 am. Disregard the time, just go. At 7:30 there was quite a line up. I was first, I had to show my passport,Loomis letter, and appmt letter to the greeter and then through security. I had a teeny purse, and my docs in clear plastic folders. No keys, no phone. They did turn people away in line that had bags, and they took keys to be returned later. I was through and down the stairs and sat as close to the elevator as possible. At 8 am they just called out , "go to the 19th floor". I was first in and to the back and left, and first to the reception. #1 and then waited a little. The first window took a little longer because I had to submit all my original docs. Then I sat and waited. The interview was the usual, where met , how long known, and he asked how they knew my husband was where he said he was. Fortunately I has a copy of his driver's license. Make sure you have copies of everything to hand to them. Then he said the magic words, and I thanked him and cried. By this time the place was bedlam. It was 9:30.
I am over the moon. |

Timeline Comments: 2Hello and congratulations on successfully arriving to the end of this process. I am still waiting and would be grateful if you respond to a few questions.
- Did your interview said it is combined interview and your spouse should be with you?
- What questions were asked from you and your spouse during i-751 interview?
Thanks and good luck
Kitti on 2019-06-18 said: Thank you. I did not know it was going to be a combined interview but I expected it to be. My husband waited for me outside, he did not have to come in, but I let the officer know he was there and available. Basically , where we live, what his name was , his birth date , when we got married. That was pretty much it. Did we file taxes?
Best of luck.
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
