I contacted the consulate about changing the date of my interview, and they were extremely accommodating and nice about it. I ended up having my interview at Kaisaniemi the week before they were moving back to Kaivopuisto. I went there just 5 minutes before my scheduled time and was buzzed in immediately. As has been said previously, the wait after that was long and we were all kept in the hallway. I'd say there were close to 10 of us there. One by one we were called in - me being the last one. Inside I went through security and was escorted to a waiting area. There were still a couple of people there waiting. I got called up to be fingerprinted and then sent back to wait again. I ended up being the last one to be called up to actually have my interview, and that wait was a wee bit unpleasant as the waiting area felt like a fish tank with all eyes on me. Anyway, I got to talk to a super nice lady who asked me some pretty basic questions. The interview was over in probably five minutes or so. In all, the staff was very friendly and accommodating which made the experience a good one. However, the temporary facility was pretty grim. Luckily for everyone now they should be back in business at their old location! Also, I was surprised at how difficult it was to find the embassy's contact information, and that there was no customer service via telephone. |

Surprisingly, there was barely a line when I got to customs and immigration, so I only maybe waited 5 to 10 minutes. The officer I talked to was friendly and barely asked me any questions. He just went through my paperwork, took my electronic fingerprints and sent me to another officer at the very back. There I got fingerprinted with ink. Again, a very friendly officer with a sense of humor. I tend to joke around a lot, and so I was lucky these guys weren't at all uptight. The second officer also informed me about the next steps that I would have to take and when I needed to apply for removal of conditions. All in all I would say it was almost as pleasant as it could have been. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
