I made an inquiry last week and was told I should call back in 2 months....perhaps by chance we got the approval this week. We did not have an interview. |

Embassy Review : |
Well, like all of my fellow VJ'ers it's been a long, stressful haul!
Like the other reviews have stated, the worst part is anxiety and fear of the unknown. I was also bringing my 2 children which made it slightly more stressful. The security guards at the front door are no joke....do not bring a bag, purse, phone etc....people were turned away.
Be over prepared with documents, mine took nearly 30 minutes to sort at the first window. For those immigrating with children, have a rock solid custody order, they read my entire order. My fiancé was with me, calming me the entire way, it was a blessing having him there.
The interview itself was more a "chat":
When did you first meet
Where did you meet
How have you stayed in contact
After reviewing our very large file, he handed a letter through the slot.....and here came the tears, I was so overwhelmed with joy I lost it. The officer said "I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you cry" as his eyes welled up with tears himself from behind the glass, I regained composure and thanked him. I felt silly, but raw motions came pouring out. He explained the passport return process which I heard nothing more than his voice. My fiancé thankfully listened for me. I tried to keep calm, running over to the children to let them know "we got the approval"!!
A very good experience, nothing to worry about, speaking from the gal that hasn't slept in 2 days.
Thanks for all the advice, good luck to everyone, if you have any questions let me know. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
