Consulate Review: Dublin, Ireland
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : April 11, 2015
Embassy Review : I almost didn’t complete this section because we don’t have anything that new to offer – our experience with Dublin Consulate was very similar to everyone else’s once we got to the interview.

There were however, a couple communication issues leading up the interview which added 11 days to the process.

- All the communication prior to the interview was directed to the US citizen rather than the applicant. This happened for Packet 3 (emailed to the US citizen) and Packet 4 (also via email), despite being told that the applicant would either receive Packet 4 via post or via a phone call advising them of the interview date and time.
- It was only discovered that the Packet 3 email was sent when we inquired as to why we had not heard anything. Again, this happened with Packet 4.
- We did not receive any emails initiated by Dublin; however, if they replied to our inquiry we received them no trouble.
- All responses from Dublin were very quick, often the same day.

In the end, all was fine we even got to have the interview a day early. The original interview date was for a Tuesday, the embassy rang the Friday before to ask if they could move the interview up to Monday – due to a large number of J-1s being processed. The K1 was received 2 days after CEAC status changed to “Issued.”
We share this to alert you to follow up with Dublin IV if you do not hear from them promptly after CEAC status changes to “Ready” and after you return Packet 3.

Event Description

Embassy Review : We were in and out of the office in under an hour; from our scheduled appointment time. The officers were very professional and reassured us there was nothing to worry about. My partner studied the 100 questions and knew them well; the majority of the time is spent going over the application. One question that has changed slightly pertains to being arrested; they also ask if you have ever received a traffic citation.
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
