Comments : K1 Visa Interview:
Appointment letter stated to be at KL Embassy at 8.00am. Entered without the need to que into the embassy, followed with an immediate call within 15 minutes to surrender most documentations, before 'actual interview', which lasted for 10 minutes.

Compilation of information, such as:
1. Passport (old and new)
2. Birth Cert (old and new, both original and copy)
3. Visa payment receipt (copy)
4. Petitioner's Affidavit of support documents (Form + letter) (originals)
5. Petitioner's recent tax returns (original)
6. Petitioner's current work letter evidence (original)
7. Medical Report (bring in the x-ray plus doc by doc)- the embassy rep will take the report as the main letter is sealed, and return the x-ray which will be hand carried upon entry to the US.

** No relationship evidence document was requested. Although based on appointment letter it is a requirement.

Questions asked were:
1. Were you (applicant) married?
2. Was your fiance married before?

This was then followed with a wait for an approximate 4 hour, till my number was called in for the actual interview. First was the fingerprint for biographical information capture. Followed by the interview 10 minutes later which lasted for 5-10 minutes. First, an oath was to be taken, to tell the truth, only the truth and nothing but the truth. I was then given a document on understanding my rights as an immigrant in the U.S, and information on human trafficking as well as domestic violence. Questions asked at this point were:
1. How did you meet your fiance?
2. What does your fiance work as?
3. What is your(applicant)education background?
4. What do you plan to do in the US, work wise?
5. What do you do, currently?
6. Where do you work?
7. When is the wedding?
8. Is anyone from Malaysia (i.e Family), coming over?

The interviewer then said another person will inform on when i can get my passport with the Fiance visa. Before which, he stamped "Cancelled without Prejudice" on my old passport with my tourist, B2 U.S Visa. At this point, i asked if i was approved, and the interviewer said YES, you are APPROVED!

The Passport is due to be sent to me, within 3-5 working days. Overall, the process went smoothly, the interviewer was knowledgeable, welcoming and helpful.

Date given was 06/07/2018, I couldn’t make it on the date, so I tried a walk-in and that’s why it was done earlier.

Interview:
I had my citizenship interview at 26 Federal Plaza on Oct 28th. The process for me was not too long, got to the waiting place (7th Gl-unit 700) between 1230-1245, registered my name, got a number and called in by 1pm as per the time provided in the letter.

The interviewer was was very friendly, asked me about where I lived and what I did and if I travelled anywhere out of US. Got me to read a sentence first (who is Washington?) followed by writing a sentence (Washington was the first president). Then we pursued with the 6 questions (as long as you get the first 6 right, you are good to move on!). He then got me to sign few verifications, also answer some required questions and I was done! Told me, he will send my information for citizenship approval also provided the date and time for my oath, which will be on Nov 15th at 11am. I was out by 1.25pm.

Sent me to another waiting room, in which we waited longer just to find out that their printer doesn’t work and gave me a preliminary document till I get the official one in my mail. In fact I got the text and email update as well as the copy online on Oct29th.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
