Embassy Review : I went to Vancouver for my Dr's appt with Dr. Cheema and then to the consulate a couple of days later for our K1 visa interview. We stayed at the Best Western in Surrey, which was not very far from the Dr's office. First the Dr's office was very friendly and helpful. The dr's appt very easy. His nurse did height and weight for myself and my three kids. Next Dr. Cheema interviewed us all together and while he did that asked us some general questions about our health all the while filling out our paperwork. He did some basic checkup stuff, eyes, ears, blood pressure, etc. Talked to me about a couple of things while the kids were outside (grownup stuff ) He basically gave us the all good at the end. I picked up the report the next day at 4:30. The nurse went over the immunization records with me and advised me that I would need that report for the next stage of immigration. Finding the consulate was interesting as I was expecting a separate building or something, but its located in a building with other businesses. There is a parkade across the street where you can park while you interview. Follow the rules that you are given on your appointment confirmation about what you can bring and size of purse, etc. Security is tight, but they are friendly. We made our way to the 20th floor and waited just a few minutes until I saw the first person who went over all the paperwork. We then waited for approx 10 minutes till we saw the other person who fingerprinted me and did the interview. She asked ages, what I and my fiance did, how did we meet, when did we meet, when did we get engaged. She asked for photos, and then asked what I liked about my fiance. That was the extent of the interview and then she said congratulations, your visa has been approved. I was so overprepared! Both of the women whom I saw at the consulate were great. Very friendly! I stressed for nothing!
Rating : Very Good
