Hi all just want to share my experience...My interview was at 9:30, got there around 8:50, the nice security lady asked for my loomis letter, interview letter and my passport and then she told me its early so come back after nine..I waited around and then came back to her at 9am, by that time there was a line, she saw me and called me straight up and give me the number 27 and told me to go in..went to the second door and wait for a couple of seconds then another guard came out and told me to come in and put my clear plastic envelope with my documents and cash into the bin which they scanned and i walked through another scanner..he kept my phone and give me a number to pick it up after my interview.
I went down the stairs to the elevator, only one other person was waiting, took elevator up to the 19 floor another nice woman told us to sit in the immigrant section and wait for my number to call.
The numbers were not called in sequence but dont worry not a big deal..finally i was called to window 11, the nice man asked for my original civil documents..looked at my pics and smiled and asked which ones i want to use and of course i said the better ones.. He asked what my husband did for a living and when I told him he smiled and said wow thats an unusual one. He asked me where my husband lives and if this is my first or second marriage, he also asked if the spelling was correct for my mom and dad's name. All the other documents I took was not needed, then he said to sit and wait and to remember my number is 27.
After 20 mins my number was called to go to window 9 where a very nice woman asked me the following questions..when did i first move to canada, when i became a canadian citizen and i said honestly i dont't remember and she just smiled. she asked how often we see each other and if it was easier by driving..next question was if i was ever denied entry at the border and i said yes, she asked why, i told her i was'nt working at the time so couldnt show proof of ties to canada. Then she said but you have been able to travel back and forth since right and I said yes..Then she said your visa is approved and give me the welcome to the USA letter and explained about the system being down but to keeping checking my status and my email. I told her no worries that the hardest part is over and she smiled and said have a great day..
Over all this was so easy and smooth All the staff I met that day was amazing, they made me feel at ease and relaxed..
So my advise just be calm and tell the truth and have a little patience... |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
