Consulate Review: London, United Kingdom
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : July 19, 2014
Embassy Review : 18/7/14, day of Interview

Arrive at Embassy 8am, interview not until 9:30, get taken in straight away with no issues and get my ticket number, seated by 8:11. I914 was my ticket number.

9:30 comes along I get called up for my first interview, nice older gentleman with a handle bar mustache. Takes passport, Birth/Marriage cert and Police cert, plus a photocopy of each, also took 2 passport sized pictures. Then asked me for my AoS, as soon as he saw it he told me it was the wrong one. I had the I-134, actually needed I864, he said it wouldn't require me to come back down to London (thank god) just need to mail in the right form. He then sent me to pay my MRV fee and to return, he gave me back my papers and asked me to take a seat to be called for the next interview. (Total time 15 minutes)

10am. Nothing

11am. Nothing

12pm. Nothing, room emptying.

1pm. Still nothing, room emptying faster.

1.30. I go up to the guy at the desk overseeing everything going on, ask whats happening and if they had forgotten about me. By this point there are literally 4 people left on the waiting room. He takes my name and ticket number and makes a call, on return he agrees with me that I was forgotten about and that someone would be with me shortly.

2.10 I get called up for my second interview, the lady wasn't very apologetic or sympathetic that I'd been waiting AND quite clearly forgotten about. At this point she starts to log into the system which she failed to do so as it "Wasn't letting her on all day" this went round for around another 30 minutes as she casually walked around the back room trying to find someone to log her into the IV system to get my interview underway.

She couldn't, so decided to take written notes of the interview, asked how my wife and I met, where we work, when did we last visit each other.

She also made me swear under oath.

2:45 rolls around and she finally decides to try another computer, logging in instantly, at this point she scanned my fingerprints to verify it was my, as if my numerous passport photos were not enough.

At this point she says , "I'm going to recommend that your visa gets approved" (YAYY I'm thinking) "but for now, I have to deny it. (booo)

Confirmed again I had the wrong AoS and that I had to have my wife send me the new one and I was to fill out DS-230 part 2 and send it all back VIA the courier service. Once all was in they would check it out and process the Visa.
