Second Interview Result:
Visa Received : 2014-07-01
US Entry : 2014-07-29
Comments : There were several documents we needed to submit, but from start to finish was 30 min.

The final interview itself, which is necessary to receive the visa, was only 7-8 minutes long!

After the interview, the interviewer who was really friendly told us verbally that "I don't see any problem about 2 of you. Congratulations."

Quite a bit shorter than the 45-60 min we expected.

The interview was not in a separate and isolated "interrogation room" as I expected, but was done at the bank teller-styled layout with all the other people around us.

FYI;
We were asked simple questions below;
How did we meet?
When did we get married?
How have we contacted each other during we live apart from each other.
My husband's occupation.

It was really pleasant and smooth.

Comments : I had my interview at 8:30am in the morning on 12 March, 2018 at Washington D.C field office (Fairfax VA).

Please let me share my experience with you guys briefly.

Here're the questions I was asked for the civic test;

1. What is one promise you make when you become a United States citizen?

2. Who is the "Father of Our Country?

3. Who is the Governor of your state now? ( I memorized former Governor's name but I could found out the new one 2days before the interview... Phew...)

4. What movement tried to end racial discrimination?

5. Where is the Statue of Liberty?

6. Name two national U.S. holidays.

For the reading test and writing test, I am sorry that I seemed to be so nervous so I did not remember clearly. But I just remembered that both of the tests are the answers of the civic test questions and they were easy.

After the tests, I.O , she told me that I passed all the tests.

Then she reviewed my application and confirmed my answer if they are the same to my application.

After that, she handed over the paper of "Naturalization Interview Results" to me.

(It mentioned that "You passed the tests" and "Congratulations! Your application is recommended for approval")

She just told me to wait for the letter for the oath ceremony information which will be delivered to me within 60-90 days.

The I.O who interviewed me did not ask any difficult questions or ask for submit documents. She was friendly and kind.

The whole time for my interview took about 15-20 minutes, I suppose.

So far ( as of 6 April, 2018), my online status has just updated as "Oath ceremony will be scheduled". Hopefully I will be able to receive the information letter soon and find out the date of it! Shall keep you guys posted ;-)

POE Review: Detroit
Event Description
Entry Date : 2014/07/29
Embassy Review : I had to wait for a long line of several visa holders like 30mins though the process of immigration was quite easy and smooth and the immigration officers were friendly and no harrasement at all. I just realised that i was migrating to the sates when the custom officer told me that "Oh you immigrate today? Congratulations! Welcome to the states."
I had to take an another flight to get to the destination. My layover time @ Detroit was ard 3 hours that was enough to cacth my another flight. Then at the airport of the destination, my dearly husband picked me up and took me home. My new journey has just started.
May God bless you all!!!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
