Embassy Review : |
The interview day.
Arrived at 8.30 am to the US embassy, to be greeted by a massive queue. Was in the line half an hour before staff came along asking if anyone had an immigrant visa.
K1 visa - allowed me access to front of the line and get through the security checks. You are allowed phones an tablets, just not laptops.
Arrival into the embassy was another long wait, it was 1.5 hours before I was called up.
Then another 1.5 hours before being called up again for my interview. The interview taking 5 minutes in total and then being told I had been approved.
All in all a very long wait. Try and find a seat ! And keep your eye on the board for your number, numbers which dont come through in any particular order. There is food and drinks that are available to be purchased and also a photo booth machine for VISA photos. (Only one is actually needed)
The staff were friendly and its just the waiting that is more nerve wracking than anything ! |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
