RFE - delayed due to not receiving RFE letter in post although requested 4 times. So September 19th 2015 I went to an InfoPass and they printed the letter as they made a mistake by not updating my information correctly when I changed my address. |

I arrived at 09:30am with my interview at 10:00
There was a few people in line (about 7/8 people) waiting outside. The line moved pretty fast got to the greeting window within 5mins. I handed in my passport and they scanned the application approval confirmation form and gave ticket number. Next I went through security checks (just like at airports) very fast, then it's a short walk to the consulate building. Once inside you remove the stuff put in the plastic bag (given at security check stage) and put the empty bag in the bins provided.
Then I entered the hall, where I handed my ticket given at greeting window to reception and was given a paper explaining what the process would be for the interview and domestic violence document. I had to go first right away to the cashiers desk (window 22) handed in the ticket and passport and the payment/fee confirmation document. That took 10mins, then I was asked to sit and wait to be called (by either name or number so pay attention) to window 20 or 21 for 1st interview very short, with a caseworker who takes your finger prints and confirms your personal details and contact information. They also instruct you on what to do with documents once approved.
You take a seat (waited 20mins as 2people ahead of me) I was called to window 17 (my name not ticket number so again pay attention) I had to give finger print again take an oath to confirm the information provided and about to give is true. The officer interviewing me asked me 4 questions
1. How we met
2. What the USC does for work
3. How the USC proposed
4. When I intended to travel to USA
He then have me back my original documents and asked me to wait a moment while he put info in to pc - I waited 4/5mins, he then said all my paperwork is in order and that he has approved my application and I should receive my passport with K1 Visa within 3-5 business days
He also advised at port of entry (POE in USA) the immigration officer will conduct an interview and stamp you passport - he also gives you a date you must enter USA by as the visa is only valid as long as the medical is valid
Everyone there was extremely friendly from the guards outside to the final interview officer so nice
I was able to communicate in both German and English at any stage.

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
