Comments : The Au consulate in Sydney reportedly emailed me the petitioner packet 3. with an appointment of sept 23. I never received it, and since my fiance and I thought all along he would get it, we just figured it was another back log (Texas service center took 7 mths to process) On spet 29th i emailed to consulat and they informed that my fiance had missed his 9/23/14 interview and was rescheduled for 10/14/14. he got packet 3 forwarded and has had two weeks to get everything together. Looks like police check won't be done before the interview. Thankfully even without packet 3 in hand we had been gathering needed documents. Wish us luck!

Event Description

Embassy Review : Writing this as reported by my fiance: His appointment was at 9 am.He didn't have to wait long. Security level was high. Interviewer was "friendly but efficient". He was asked a few questions such as how did you meet?, when?, have you been to the states? He was asked about the proposal, when we will get married? Also asked what I, the petitioner, did for a living. They talked briefly about my children. He thumbed through the papers quickly. (My fiance said he felt a little let down that it got only a glance considering all the agonizing work it took to put the packet together) He went in knowing he did not have police Certificate yet. Was told everything was in order pending the police clearance and was given instructions on how to sent it once it comes in. So basically a quick painless experience. He was in and out in about an hour. Still no Visa, but very close.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
