Port of Entry : Houston
POE Date : 2015-03-04
Got EAD Stamp : Yes,Passport Stamp
Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 5
Comments : The whole process took about 1 hour. Arrived and made our way to the "Visitor" lane where we were #5 or #6. Officer asked when did we get married then told us to wait for another officer to escort my wife to the secondary room. Wife said she was the only one in the secondary room so she was in and out quick. Only questions asked were how did we meet..We ended up waiting a few hours for the connecting flight..Overall, easy process.

Embassy Review : ****Disclaimer, I could not attend the interview with my wife due to a military mission****

My wife arrived at the embassy around 0545 and was second in line. Around 0645, a lady came around checking her appointment letter and finally got inside the embassy around 0700. She waited around 45 minutes before getting called to the window where fingerprints were taken and she was asked for my birth certificate and divorce decree; she was also given back documents sent to USCIS and NVC which were no longer needed. After that, she was told to take a seat and listen for her name to be called for the interview.

At around 10 Am, she was finally called and went to a room where she was asked who was the petitioner, how did we meet, whether she has been to the US before, and then shown a picture and asked to identify me (Her brother and cousin were in the same picture). After 5 minutes, she was told that her visa was approved and given instructions on how to pay the $165 permanent resident card fee and also info about Cargo Expresso.

We were over-prepared with documents, pictures, money transfer receipts, letters, but the interviewer did not even ask...

It does not matter if you are the first one to show up to the embassy, the order in which you are called to the first window and interview is a mystery..

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
