There was systems error so I had to take bio-metrics several times before being confirmed. Don't be alarmed if that is also the case for you, as long as they are not hostile. The service agent was very helpful in fact. I wish you all luck.
NVC delivered my green card to the wrong address. A state away actually, so beware and call to check after 50 days, make sure to get your AOS number and also the receipt number for the form you pay for before entering the U.S. It goes a long way. I hope this helps. |

Interview: I arrived late but thankfully everything still worked out as planned. There was a system failure that morning so there was a long line outside. After about an hour though, we finally were able to go in, no electronics or cosmetics (ladies) permitted.
There was other people waiting inside the courtyard but my appointment was at 7 so they sent me straight into where the counters were. After about nearly another hour the systems came back on and they started calling numbers. First you go to one counter to confirm who you are and ask who's filing for you and such, minor things. The first lady was really intense, I thought that was the interview but it wasn't. Then I had to wait again for the ACTUAL interview which was conducted by another lady, you have to listen for your name. I don't remember how long I waited in between because I dozed off since I didn't get much sleep that night. Anyway, then I heard my name being called and I went to the window and she will you to raise your right hand and swear that you are telling the truth. They will also scan your fingerprints both times you go to the counter. Then we started. This lady didn't haggle me, she just wanted to know basic stuff that any teen would need to know about a parent's marriage and my relationship to my step father. Things like when did they get married and if we lived together, had he been married before, stuff like that. So after about 3-5 minutes she just says that everything checks out, I get to go home and I should pick up my stuff in a week or two. Then she walked away. Just like that. I arrived at about 7:30 and I left at around 10:30/11 ish. It would have probably been faster if the systems didn't fail but then again, I might have not been permitted to enter because I was late, I don't know. Just make sure to be on time. I didn't know the traffic here in the morning is so horrendous. Make sure to give yourself at least a 2 hours head start no matter how close you are especially if you're appointment is early in the morning. That means that you should be there an hour early at least or you will probably regret it and have to reschedule. I say hit the road by 5:30 even if you are close, after that, the traffic starts to get out of control. Trust me, it will save you the despair of being late because bad traffic can linger here into the late morning if you're unlucky. So besides the system failure and waiting, it was pretty straight forward and right to it, the officers were polite and did a fine job without being too pushy and or rude.

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
