Evidently the medical exam we paid for in China wasn't thorough enough so they had to more shots and tests. We followed instructions, sent in the results and finally got the green cards! |

I made a typo on the application and we got the card with a birthdate from 1907 instead of 1970. I called USCIS about fixing it and they said it would probably be easier to just wait for the Green Card. I double checked my paperwork on the Green Card app and it was ok. |

Embassy Review : |
I have to say that I have been pleasantly surprised at how quickly and efficiently the State Dept has dealt with our case. After our NOA2 arrived, we received the packet from the embassy in Guangzhou in just a couple of weeks. We followed the steps as outlined here on the website and now have our Interview date scheduled.
On the negative side, we feel like we have been 'ripped off' by the visa agency, UStraveldocs.com. After filing the DS-160 online form, we sent in the Confirmation Code to the embassy and they approved us to schedule an interview. In order to pay the fee, you must use a local bank and local currency. She followed the instructions on the UStraveldocs web site and paid for her visa but when it gave her a receipt, the amount was wrong. My fiancé is a very sharp lady so I believe her when she says she did it correctly. It looked pretty straight forward, cut and paste the number in the box. Anyway, UStraveldocs will not refund or transfer the money so it cost us $380. Still cheaper than hiring a lawyer but if I were to do it over again, I would go down to the bank in person and make the payment with a bank officer helping. That way you get a receipt and if there's a mistake, the bank is at fault and you stand a chance of getting your money back. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
